Chance had slid his hand up her thigh to play with the edge of her undies when she brought his attention to the location. He lifted his head up from her neck to look around them, then back down at her. “No one’s around,” he said, tentatively, moving his fingers along the elastic. “But if you really want to go right now…”
Juliette didn’t let him say anything else as she brought her hands up to cup his face and pull his lips onto hers. She honestly didn’t care that they were outside and thankfully it was late enough that no one would be out, but she had thought maybe he would be more comfortable indoors, on a bed. Obviously, Chance had other plans and that was fine with her. She’d let him pace this out himself, though.
He smiled and kissed her neck. “I love you,” he murmured, running his hand up her leg. “I can show you how ready I am,” he teased, kissing down her neck and tauntingly playing with the edge of her skirt.
“Chance,” she murmured, her eyes falling shut as chill bumps popped up all over her skin. Her head lolled to the side, giving him more room to kiss along her neck when her eyes opened with a sudden realization. “Out here?” She whispered.
“I want it too…” he pulled away a little, looking down at her. “Did you think I didn’t?” He frowned a little. Did this go back to her ruining him? He wanted sex too, did she not think he did?
Juliette shrugged at his question, not sure what she actually thought he wanted. He had responded favorably to her advances especially when she had stayed the night with him, but other times he would stop her and just hold her close. “Well, sometimes. Mostly I just thought you wanted to wait, and I didn’t want to pressure you in to anything when you weren’t ready or anything.” She said, looking off to the side.
“If that’s what the birthday girl wants…” he teased, pressing his lips to her neck. He didn’t mind if she wasn’t on her best behavior. It had gone so well the time before and either way he’d be happy. No promises needed to be made about what would happen and what wouldn’t.
Juliette laughed. “That’s not what I want,” she said before thinking about it. It was no secret how experienced Juliette was and while she wasn’t a huge sex addict or anything, she did enjoy the act and she knew that with Chance, with someone she really loved, it would be even better. “But, I want to respect what you want, even if it is my birthday.” She said.
Juliette wasn’t close enough and Chance made sure to draw her against him to remind her of that fact. He was too tangled in her to care about decency at that point. He was alone with the woman he loved and he knew that she loved him in return. If she wasn’t being held as tightly as he could, he was doing something wrong. “I’m spending the night with you,” he said firmly. “I don’t want to leave you… and I don’t want to get up right now…” It would mean pulling away from her, even if they were just going to tangle back up once they got back to a room.
She was surprised to hear how firm he was about staying the night with her, but she didn’t mind in the slightest, in fact, she was very pleased to hear it. She was also pleased that he pulled her even closer, thankful that this time he didn’t seem to care about propriety. “Thank Merlin,” she said, a teasing grin on her face, though she knew he couldn’t see it. “I promise to be on my best behaviour… for real, this time.” She added, remembering the last time she’d made that promise.
“So, first day of dance class, you followed me out to tell me I sucked.” He rolled over on his side, then upright as he continued. “And I got really mad and kind of stormed off… but you came up and called me cute and kissed my cheek…” he ran his fingers through his hair and picked at the grass. “I kind of starting liking you then… but I learned to be less obvious about it after you rejected me.”
Juliette paled as he told the story. He really remembered that? She remembered when she was younger and the way she’d rejected guys was… well, it wasn’t as nice as it was once she was older. She hoped that she hadn’t hurt Chance, but it was all in the past now. She sat up with him and kissed him tenderly, smiling as she pulled away. “I can’t believe you remember that,” she said as she laughed a bit. “You really were terrible when you first started, but you had such determination.” She reached up and ran her fingers through his hair.
Chance loved the way she grinned, but hated the way she always felt the need to see why he loved her. Hadn’t he explained this before? She didn’t need to do anything big, she didn’t need to do anything. She just earned love with the way she moved and spoke to him. He settled into the grass next to her. “Story time!”
Juliette laughed as he exclaimed ‘Story time!’ and settled in, prepared to hear this story of his. She wondered what exactly it was about, but suspected it had something to do with when he started loving her. “Alright, story time.” she confirmed. When she had asked what she had done to deserve his love, it wasn’t in the normal way that she usually used to put herself down, she just thought she was very lucky. She thought so highly of Chance.
Living together. That sounded amazing. He could curl himself around her every night and kiss the back of her neck and cook breakfast for her… it’d be great! He grinned up at her and leaned up to capture her lips in his. “That sounds fine with me,” he told her, trying not to look to ecstatic. She saw herself with him for longer than just the school year, or the rest of their time at Beauxbatons… she saw them living together.
Juliette breathed a sigh of relief, she should have known that Chance wouldn’t judge her for that, that he would like the idea if not love it. She kissed him back, smiling up at him sheepishly. Jules wasn’t supposed to be like this, but she couldn’t find it in her to regret it in the slightest. One of her hands went up to run through his hair, looking at him with fondness and love. “I love you, Chance. I really, really do. I never thought I could love anyone the way that I truly and completely love you.” For once, she didn’t feel silly, she just felt… love.
Chance rubbed her arm and smiled up at the stars, extremely happy that he’d managed to keep things simple enough for Juliette to be happy. As she laid her head on his chest, he tilted his head down and kissed the top of her head. “What’cha thinking?” He asked, curious as to what was going on in that brilliant mind of hers. What would she do when she was out of Beauxbatons? He knew he wouldn’t ask her to marry him immediately, that’d jump the gun a little quickly and he knew Jules would be a bit unhappy with that.
Juliette blushed in the darkness, thankful that he couldn’t see her face at that particular moment. She didn’t want him to know about her little fantasy and think that she was strange for thinking about such things, especially with how Juliette had always been up until this point. Wasn’t Chance supposed to be the one imagining these things and thinking about the future? “Just the future,” she mumbled. It probably wouldn’t be hard for Chance to figure out that she meant her future with him.
